Element Painters Inc. is owned and operated by two women with a goal. Our goal is attainable with the help of other like minded individuals. We practice what we teach. We recycle, as do you. We have cut down on our water consumption. We take our shopping bags with us instead of using the ones in store.

• Fact: If every person sacrificed two bags at the supermarket a week that would be enough to circle the globe 126 times with room to tie a bow!
• Solution: Use paper bags when feasible or better still bring your own, they are going to be eco friendly and less likely to cut into your hands when weighed down.

Small steps like these make a huge difference to our world. The research we have conducted and the people we have spoken to, the thing that amazes us the most is how surprised people are when they learn that reducing their time in the shower or putting the plug in the bath as soon as they run the water can save valuable resources and money as well.

• Fact:  The average bathtub faucet gushes with between three to five gallons of water a minute
• Solution: Spend five minutes less in the shower or plug the bath as soon as you run the water, better still change your shower head to a low flow and save money in the long run!

When you consider the damage done to the environment by all our little habits, it makes you think "Well maybe if I used Tupperware instead of cling wrap in future"  or "Why don't we walk to the park and leave the car at home as it's a nice day". With scientists and ecologists working around the clock to come up with a solution to the global warming crisis, it makes you think, What can I do for the environment?

• Fact: The average Canadian throws away 500 times their weight in garbage during their lifetime.
• Solution: Buy more fresh food and leave the little plastic bags for the mushrooms and use the paper one instead. If the product is heavily packaged it usually means it's over priced.
