Element Painters Inc.

Kate Morrison (President) of Element Painters Inc. has a varied background in arts. Her first foray into the arts world came about after being exposed to her mothers sign writing business located in Ontario. From growing up around all things creative, Kate knew that she too had to use her design knowledge and steady hand to do something artistic.

Once finished at High School in Toronto, Kate went onto apprentice with the family business and learn in depth what's involved in hand painted signs and vinyl signage. After a year of hard graft learning the trade, an opportunity came about whereby Kate could go to Ireland for a year and learn the theory behind art. In the GMIT in Galway city on the North West coast, Kate enrolled in a Bachelors of Arts in Art and Designs. The course enabled Kate to use her new skills in a different environment. Throughout the year Kate learned the history of art and design, theory, research skills and discipline studies which incorporated painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture and textures.

During her year long studies Kate met her spouse and business partner Suzanne Morrison. Once back in Canada Kate and Suzanne continued on with the family business during the peak season. In the mean time they used any spare hours to research the environment and the effects the painting industry on a whole had on it. Born from this research was their first business together Element Painters Inc.
